    Some more details about your EV or PHEV:

    In your own context, what range (kms on a single charge) does your EV or PHEV need to have to make it worth owning? If you drive a PHEV, give the minimum range on your battery (i.e. EV Driving) rather than the total range (EV and fuel modes combined). We will be measuring battery decay and range contraction as your car gets older. Also, please tell us what determines this is your practical limit in range (e.g. reaching my work place and back without charging; access to a fast charger; insufficient time to recharge between family trips…).

    (PHEV owners only) Battery-powered travel percentage: For those with a Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), please estimate the proportion of your travel that is normally powered by the battery rather than fuel. This measure is an important gap in national knowledge and we will use it to more accurately report to you the monetary, social and environmental benefits of PHEVs.

    (PHEV owners only) Fuel type: For those with a Plug-in Hybrid, we will use this to calculate the monetary costs to you and Greenhouse Gas emissions of running a PHEV compared to a conventional vehicle of about the same size.

     

    About your home / workplace set up:

    (treat "home" as "workplace" if you mainly charge at work)

    Slow chargers used: Please describe the type of charger (or chargers if you have more than one) that you use at home or carry with you when travelling. Include make and model number if possible. We would also like to know if it logs electricity input. (required)

    Electricity outlet at home: Please describe the type of electricity outlet and plug you use at your home base for charging e.g. 8-10 Amp household, 16 Amp Blue Commando, 15 Amp industrial flat-pin, wireless, other. (required)

    Home solar generation: Please estimate the Peak power output (KWp) of any solar panels you operate at home to help charge your vehicle's battery. If you don’t have solar panels, enter zero. We need this to calculate and report to you the cost of running your vehicle.

    Home wind generation: Please estimate the Peak power output (KWp) of any wind turbine you operate at home to help charge your vehicle's battery. If you don’t have a wind turbine, enter zero.

    Typical maximum charge level (as %): What do you usually charge your battery up to (SoC)? This will help us measure the effect of ‘State of Charge’ (SoC) on the decay rate of the battery.

    Occasional maximum charge level (as %): What do you occasionally charge your battery up to (SoC), perhaps for longer trips?

    Typical minimum charge level (as %): How low do you usually run your battery down to (SoC) before you recharge it? This will help us measure the effect of ‘State of Charge’ on the decay rate of the battery.

    Occasional minimum charge level (as %): How low do you occasionally run your battery charge down to (SoC) before you recharge it?

    When do you charge at home? What proportion of your EVs and PHEVs charging happens in the off peak times (9.30 am – 4.30pm; or 11 pm – 7 am)? This information will help us predict impact of EVs & PHEVs on national grid demand.

    Use of other EVs and conventional vehicles

    Any other electric vehicles available for your use? Does your household or business have other EVs or electric bike(s) for you to use? Please describe the additional EVs and how often you use them. Do you belong to an EV car sharing scheme? If so please give us a few details (which one, how often do you use them, etc.

    If you own and/or operate non-electric vehicle/s, please let us know the following four things: 1: The type of non-electric vehicle (e.g. Saloon, SUV, Van, Motorbike or quad bike, Other), 2: the model of this/these non-electric vehicle/s, 3: what percentage of your travel is by EV or PHEV rather than by your non-electric vehicle/s, and lastly, 4: why do you retain a conventional vehicle (e.g. do you need it for different activities that your EV or PHEV cannot service? In what ways does having both help your lifestyle?

    What else is special about your vehicle or home set up? Tell us what might be different about your vehicle or the way you mostly use it i.e. things that might affect its efficiency, battery health, cost etc.
